Can't stop the addiction...
After dropping my sister off to her job at the movie theater I couldn't resist the temptation to browse around Fry's Electronics. I had browsed through Border's earlier in the week as I was getting some excercise. I managed not to buy anything. This time though, there was a box of books with 50% off. Usually there was nothing but junk in this box. This time a few caught my eye. Of all things I've been obsessed with Objective-C and Perl lately. So I bought a book on Cocoa with Objective-C, which translates to writing cross-platform programs using the OpenStep API. Cocoa = OpenStep = GnuStep, so I thought it was worth buying at 50% off. Anything I write using Cocoa should be compilable in Linux, Windows, and maybe even my old NeXtstation. I finally added a few more Perl books to my collection. These were "Games, Diversions & Perl Culture" and "Web, Graphics & Perl/Tk". Some nice algorithms were seen while browsing through them so I thought it was a good buy. Finally I bought a book on developing applications using Mozilla's framework. I like open source cross platform stuff and Firefox is probably the program I use the most on any computer I have. Wouldn't it be cool if it was the ONLY program I needed?
